Registrant rights and responsibilities
Talpress operates as an authorized reseller of OpenSRS, an ICANN-accredited domain registrar. We are committed to complete transparency. In accordance with the ICANN Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA), the following rights and responsibilities apply to all domain registrants:
Your Rights as a Registrant:
-
Transparent Terms: You have the right to receive a clear, accessible copy of these rights and the domain registration agreement prior to completing your purchase.
-
Data Control: You are entitled to review your registration data (WHOIS) at any time, update it as needed, and receive an immediate email notification whenever changes to your registrant details are made.
-
Freedom of Portability (Transfers): You may request the transfer of your domain to another ICANN-accredited registrar at any time, strictly outside the mandatory 60-day lock window (which applies post-registration, post-transfer, or after a registrant change).
-
Clear Renewal Notices: You have the right to receive timely renewal and post-expiration notifications, clearly detailing the exact cost of renewal and the strict deadlines to prevent domain loss.
-
Privacy Protection: Where the specific TLD registry allows, you have the right to utilize a WHOIS privacy/proxy service (provided free of charge for supported TLDs on our platform).
-
Compliance Recourse: Should an issue remain unresolved with the registrar, you have the right to file a formal complaint directly with ICANN at: https://www.icann.org/compliance.
Your Responsibilities as a Registrant:
-
Data Accuracy: You are strictly responsible for providing and maintaining completely accurate, truthful, and up-to-date contact information throughout the registration period.
-
Verification Compliance: You must promptly respond to verification or compliance emails sent by the registrar. Failure to verify your contact details within the given deadline will result in the immediate suspension of the domain (ClientHold) under ICANN policy.
-
Timely Payments: It is your responsibility to pay all renewal fees on time. Domains that are not renewed by the exact expiration date will enter a Redemption Grace Period, and recovering the domain during this phase will incur significantly higher fees imposed by the registries.
-
Regulatory Compliance: You must ensure that your use of the domain complies with the registry policies of the relevant TLD, does not infringe on intellectual property, and strictly adheres to all applicable laws.
